Quilted "Leather" Floor Liner Review/Photos

I recently purchased these new "leather" quilted floor/carpet liners from an Ebay seller for $130. The fit is very good and it has clips that slide into place under the car's plastic trim panels to keep the mats in place. It came with a rear set as well but I will probably not use them.

I will take a little more time to shimmy them into place perfectly, which takes a little doing since the fit is tight and the back of the mats have a slight texture to them that holds them into place.

I'm pleased at the quality overall. They are obviously not leather, but well made with excellent stitching and a nice, padded feel to them. I love the contrasting stitching, which blends in nicely with the caramel interior. Other color combinations are available with combinations of different stitching and base color.

I was wondering about them. I was looking at them on Ali Express. Interested to hear how they hold up.

Stunning, a nice mod! I too would be interested in how they hold up over time.

Cool, reminds me of an early Datsun 240 z car interior.

I think the flap part that comes up over the sill plates looks messy. If that were trimmed off, it might look stock.

I've been eyeing these but they don't seem to come in any colors that would properly match the London Tan interior.

XJ8JR,

You might try contacting the ebay supplier directly. I worked with them a bit (sending photos first) and they custom-made the mat on order. They could probably alter the shape to omit the side flap to your liking and also make one in a color that would compliment your interior. If your interior is London Tan, what other colors do you have in the interior? I would suggest contrasting the seats and going with a darker color if possible.

Here's the link to the listing:

Thanks for the link. The London Tan is basically tan and dark navy blue, and the carpets are navy blue. A dark blue "leather" with tan stitching might be nice.

I didn't realize they climbed the trans tunnel when I first spotted them. Thanks for the pics Peter.

I've been curious about those mats also, as they seem like they'd show dirt less than the truffle (dark brown) carpet in my car while also being easier to clean. I agree with XJ8JR that it would be nicer if the vertical flap next to the rocker sill were straighter or tucked in somehow. The color and stitching you got looks like a perfect match for my interior. Are they willing to send color samples or swatches?

Simon, I don't know about samples. Try contacting the ebay seller to see if they would send swatches.

I can tell you, I've never had anything shipped from China as fast as these mats. It was about a week (maybe less) and the shipping was free. This bodes well for good service, I would think.

I agree the edge of the flap looks less finished than the rest of the fit. I may be able to shift the mats a little to give less height to the flap. What makes the edge look wavy is that it is clipped in a few places, with what looks like a guitar pick tab built to slide under the plastic trim. I think it also looks the worst from the camera angle I used, since it is more of a straight down shot and you can really see the gaps.

I am going to see if there is a way to tuck it the edge underneath the plastic trim but the material may be too thick for this. I'll let you know and also remember to send an update of how well they wear.

I don't think the rear ones fit all that well. They seem just a bit too large. Still, I'm very happy for the price I paid and I think they are carpet protection that I don't have to be embarrassed about.

Maybe you could just attach a couple more of the guitar pick tabs to tuck into the door sill trim?

Simon,

That's a good idea. I was thinking to myself; "I wish there were more tabs." I still may try tucking it under the plastic trim depending on how hard it is to remove.

Cheers,

Peter

Versatile2,

The color was described as "coffee" and has light gold/tan stitching which works nicely with the caramel (tan) leather interior of my Jag.

Cheers,

Peter
