Remote Key Issue for 2006 XKR Coupe

A message came up stating that the battery strength in the smart key was low.
I changed the battery but the message remains. Any help appreciated

Try another one, could be a bad replacement battery.

JBzXJ40 01-17-2018 02:20 PM

Yep, definitely check the battery - don't know how long its been sitting on shelf.

Have you looked at the circuit board - is there any corrosion, oil, etc found on it? If so may need to clean and retry.

I've also had my fob battery low warning pop up when the main needed topped off. Night on the tender made the faults go away.

When installing a new CR2032 battery, check the metal prongs and make sure they make good contact with that battery.
