Default Replacing XKR-S front splitter...

Alright, I just cracked up my splitter on a curb, it's toast.

What's it gonna cost me to replace at the dealer? I'd rather hear it from my friends, first.

Call Mina Gallery and save a couple grand...I heard they have a few made up for a fraction of the dealer cost, and they are supposed to be thicker CF I think I read.

That thing is fragile at best. I cannot see anybody lowering the XKR-S just because of that. I heard it is something in the realm of $3,000 from Jaguar and like $600 from Mina. Cannot comment on quality. I believe I saw somewhere the rear wing is $5,000 from Jaguar.

Many have had it replaced here so I am sure somebody will chime in with exact numbers because I really have no source for those.

The factory parts are a higher quality, I just received a Mina rear diffuser and am not to happy with the carbon(you can see through it) and the side pods at all. Wish I would have spent the 3k on the factory part, which I'm probably going to as I cant put this on my car.

And sorry to hear that, there is nothing worse than damaging your own car.

Just gotta shake it off; so many more important things in life. But thanks for the sympathy, Max. I'll post up with the estimate from my dealer, for future reference.

I'm gonna have to park this thing like every other fun car in my garage: always, always, ALWAYS back into the spot!!!

I'll see what my parts guys have as far as price for the front splitter and let you know as well. I'm sure its less then the dealer.

I always back into spots now, even though I don't have a carbon splitter I don't want the scuff marks.

I don't rely on it, but if you push the parking sensor button (up near the overhead lighting) it will help you when parking up to a curb.

I wish it was always on just like it is in my GMC truck, that way I wouldn't forget to use it as often as I could.

SNG Barrett and Terrys Jag are most reliable I've found.

Mine comes on by automatically I wasn't aware that I could turn it on myself. It just doesn't always detect small parking stops which you can easily hit with a lowered car

Mine only comes on in reverse automatically, and stays on until a certain MPH (5?). After that it stays off again until either you push the button or engage reverse again.

My dealer quoted $3332.71 for the part. That, my friends, is a kick in the crotch. But only $170 to install, such a deal!

Good info, guys, keep it coming.

You shouldn't have to pay VAT if it is being shipped outside UK.
