Default Rotors and Pads for those who may be in need

Hi everyone, I purchased (Ebay) front and rear drilled and slotted rotors from Brake Motive on sale at 30% off $212 + shipping as well as front and rear Akebono ceramic pads from True Blue parts, (I think around $55 for each set) So far I have put about 1000 kms on the brakes and I am quite happy…..time will tell,

but so far so good. Rotors were true, did not require any lathe work and while IMO the ceramics pads feel a bit softer on the pedal, they stop just fine. The best thing…. brake dust is almost non existent.

+2 on the Akebono, had them on my previous BMW and they were great. The stopping power was different but not diminished.

I have the same set. I think I might wait until driving season is over to install them, or some rainy afternoon.

Current rotors have very slight warp noticed only on hard braking. Organic pads are fairly new but I wouldn't reinstall them on new rotors anyway, so I bought the set.

Thx for the feedback on them Fstbmw1

steve_k_xk ….. My callipers are pretty clean so it would not take to much to get them paint ready. Did you manage to get a 'smooth' finish?

Not super smooth but alot better than the way they were
I cleaned them up with a metal buffing wheel then applied 3 coats of gloss black , the decal then 2 coats of clear

There are two varieties going around on eBay one where the writing is in a slight line (much preferred) and the other variety has a slight curve on the JAGUAR word

All up shouldn't cost much more than $10-$15 with postage

Thanks ,but that number gives no results in the sellers search. Just wondering now is there different rotors on the 4.2 xk than the xkr. Have searched on Uk sites but can't come up with any for sale through Uk.

Powerhouse, I just searched ebay and I did come across drilled/slotted rotors for an 07' XKR. I would think that your rotors may be slightly larger than my 4.2 n/a XK. Brakemotive also shows up on. If you click on their ebay link you can do a specific search for your year and model for pads and rotors. Good luck….
