Seat Switch Chrome Fix?
I'm going to pick up my XKR tomorrow and I know the "chrome" on the seat switches is peeling off. That's going to drive me crazy. Is there an easy fix? I know it's a common problem because every XK/XKR I've driven has had issues with the seat switch chrome.
I did a quick search of the forum but didn't find anything. It might end up being my first repair video. I'm thinking chrome model paint and an airbrush? Has anyone fixed the fake chrome on their seat switches without replacing the entire assembly? |
Not had a problem with mine, but I'd think it'd be either replace the unit or paint EVERY switch some decent color. Ain't no such thing as duplicating chrome.

But I would be satisfied if the switches looked like sterling silver, as long as they all looked the same. |
There are some listed on eBay as well.

You could also consider hydro dipping them.
