I finally have what I need to upload a picture of my new wheels.
After cleaning the car up, and cleaning the new Pirelli tires(Which were ugly new) I really like it.
My OEM wheels badly needed a refinish. When I get to it, perhaps I'll throw winter or all seasons on them, and then be able to swap the look of the car quite dramatically to suite the mood.
Black wheels on an Ebony car make the black paint look glossier, deeper, and blacker. Its amazing once cleaned up. I never really liked the XK badge on the back, its unbalanced. Now its gone.
These are post Irma pictures, not properly detailed. Properly detailed I love it. Keeping the tires and wheel wells clean is very important to having black wheels.
What a beauty. Did you lower the car or put in spacers?
What are these wheels called?
Yep! I like them so much that after seeing these pictures on the internet, I tried to duplicate them! At that time, I didn't know they were from this forum.
Professional pictures vs. pictures taken at a truck stop! LOL!🤣

They look the same wheels - the wheels on the proff pic are closer to the wheel arches. Are the wheels bigger or is the car lowered?

I don't know if his car is lowered, or has 22" wheels vs. my 20", or if it has taller series tires. Could even maybe be the angle in which the pictures were taken. Guess the only thing I do know is that I like it!😁

I took a pic of my car and laid the two side by side - looks like they are 22 inch.

👍 As far as the silver window trim,... I think I'll leave it for now. I'm kinda over the 100% black, murdered out look myself. I had a feeling they are 22's.

I did the trunk strip in matt black as the silver was just about worn off. With the 22's on there the speedo would be out, and the fuel/mileage computation would be out too - wonder if they can fix that in the car
programming?

It wouldn't surprise me if those issues could be sorted by programming. As an old school hot rodder, it amazes me what they could do through the computers! How did you do the chrome trunk strip in matte black? (paint, powder coat, wrap...?) I just saw the that done in the pictures in post #81 above. Looks super sharp! I'd like to do that sometime.

I masked off the area and used an automotive spray can - lots of coats.
Looks FANTASTIC! What did you do to prep the chrome suface?
It was silver painted not chrome finish. It was weathered down pretty well to the primer. No sanding needed, just wiped it over with 99% isopropyl alcohol a couple of times.
