Should You Buy a Used JAGUAR XK-R SUPERCHARGED?

Of course!

But then I have a 2014 white, but mine's got the black pack and black SC grills and looks better...all IM(not so H)O :D

Everything he says is so well delivered, even better as it's in an authentic English voice, which gives it far more gravitas...you can feel his 'yearning' to own one :)

PsiFox 01-19-2019 10:48 AM

Of course you should

Yes

Probably still the best deal a person could make for a vehicle.

Unless you're James Bond, you only live once so just do it!

Beautiful car.

One does feel ravished at the dealership...but thats because like all retail, they are struggling to make ends meet. No pun intended.

That's funny!

Theyre a great deal, as long as you dont overpay for a car that will need service asap, and if you have a good idea of what it takes to maintain one. I definitely do not want to buy one from someone who drove it just because it look like a good mustang slayer. Other than that, SC is what I want next.

I did and I love it.

I kinda of lucked out. Found mine as a trade in for a new F-type . The previous owner is an exec. at Wells Fargo where she bought the car new in 2012. She traded it in in 2014 at the same dealer who serviced and where she bought the car. I have window sticker and service history from the dealer and the CPO certification at the time of sale with 6,666 miles on the car. Being it was one of the acceptable colors I was looking for I bought it at a higher price then I was looking for and knew I would still take a big deprecation hit. I didn't much care as I look at this as being my last fun car. So now 5 years later I have only serviced the car at a dealer and have and will retain all service records. It now has 24K miles and is not being abused.

Depreciation is irrelevant if you enjoy it so much that you decide to never sell it.

Until some bozo hits you from behind and takes off, leaving you with a no longer perfectly drivable vehicle, and the cost to repair is greater than the value, so here take a check for $2,000 and good luck finding another vehicle in as good a condition for that amount of money. That is the situation I am in with our 98 Mercedes. Basically without a car until we can dig up 15-20K for another vehicle.

Depreciation is immaterial regardless. We will spend $100k++ on alcohol in our lifetimes, which has 100% depreciation in one day.

My XK was a trade-in at the same dealer for an XKR. No stories or issues, just drive and enjoy.

Mine was owned by an 85-year-old guy. He couldn't get in and out anymore, so he got rid of it to get an SUV type vehicle.

Not me - I put that money into my Jaguars and have more appreciation for that depreciation.

I don't need the juice to cut loose, and I live quite well without Muscatel. Liquor may be quicker, and brandy may be dandy, but there's no hangover with candy. I must admit that I have cheers for beers; pizza just doesn't taste right without beer.

I have owned 37 cars/trucks:SUV’s in my life to include (3) corvettes and (3) Cadillac CTS-V’s. By far my XKR is the sexiest, most comfortable and fastest car I have owned. Love it and plan to be buried in it. Lol

I have taken more out of it than it has me.
I suppose that's the trick with all consumables.
