Navigation upgrade Europe for a xk from 062010
Hello all,
I'm relatively new here and so far I find it a swell forum with lots of interesting things about Jaguar. I've a Jaguar xk convertible (5.0) from 06 2010. I'm looking for an upgrade of my navigation system. I noticed that at least what the US is concerned some Volvo types uses the same system (see among others this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...av-disc-191140). Can anyone provide me with the specifications of the upgrade of the European Volvo cars and perhaps the exact specifications of the system it self so I can try to find an upgrade.
Thx in advance
Ben

Ben,
See: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...v-disc-191140/
I suggest that you read this entire thread and look for information pertaining to the specific year and model Volvo that is sold in Europe and uses the same nav system as your XK. Then buy the most current version of that Volvo nav disk.

Ben,
Although I don't object to paying Jaguar prices for Jaguar parts, I seriously object to paying vastly inflated prices for re-packaged Navigation DVD's from Jaguar.
I used these in my 2007 XK:
https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/2017-2...disc-188-p.asp
Downside is it takes multiple disks to cover all of Europe (I needed B and C travelling from UK to southern Spain) but a lot cheaper than OE.

Think I'll grab one of these discs. Do you have the March 2017 update from those guys? I thought Jaguar stopped in 2014?

Did a good search but couldn't find. Is there a way to show the current software version? I've been reading the other thread regarding Volvo discs and losing the UK voice which, as others, I really don't want to. So wondering if I have the latest software (2012 car). I know I have the 2012 maps (came with the car).
Cheers.

My 2015MY XK has (not surprisingly) an OE Jaguar 2014 Europe map DVD supplied with the vehicle.
This disk covers all Western Europe unlike the aftermarket ones I linked in post #5 which takes 2 DVD's to cover the same countries. Other than that. those ones I purchased were professionally labelled just like OE Jaguar, setup the same and gave direction instructions in the same English voice.

My Australian Volvo map disc has an Aussie accent (actually she sounds more like a Kiwi, but that's another topic).
The North American map discs from Jaguar had a British accent, probably at additional expense to Jaguar, which is why they didn't pay for any updates.

Interesting combination of countries on that DVD. A journey from Ireland to Morocco is missing a rather large chunk of route called Spain!
From the KWI files it looks like the DVD country selection is deliberate to require multiple disk purchase for a journey either north to south or east to west across Europe. However, still good value.
