2009 Smart FOB Button Programming
2009 XK smart fob:
My #1 fob works just fine, all functions including the user input buttons and immobilizer/proximity unlock / engine start. No issues at all with this fob.
My #2 fob operates the immobilizer/proximity unlock and engine start just fine, but the user input buttons for lock / unlock / rear hatch / alarm don't work correctly. They just set off the vehicle alarm when any are pushed. The fob works fine to operate the vehicle as long as I don't push any buttons. The button battery is tested and strong.
I understand that a dealer needs to program the immobilizer/engine start circuitry to the vehicle, but does the dealer also have to program the door lock buttons? On most vehicles a simple programming sequence is DIY as long as there is one working fob to sync with.
Just need a bit of input on the matter. Many thanks!

Try swapping the CR2032 batteries. If that doesn't fix it, I suspect that there is an open circuit in the funky fob. Did that funky fob ever work properly?
As far as I know, the fob buttons are not programmable. The fob is paired to your car, and won't work in another X150 unless it has been "divorced" from that car and subsequently "married" to a different X150 using the proprietary Jaguar software. I was told that both vehicles must be present for the divorce and remarriage. It is not a DIY process, unless you have the necessary hardware and software.
