squeaky suspension
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any one else who drives a 2010 xkr 5.0 (supercharged) has noticed a weird squeaking noise coming from the rear suspension. any ideas or clues would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |
I thought I had the same problem, it turned out to be the active exhaust valve.
When do you hear the squeak? Does it happen as you slow to a stop or when you turn off the ignition? |
And its those squeaks that have me look at bushings...

Your XKR is 9 years old and the original rubber bushings have dried out and some may be cracked, which will degrade handling and make clunking and squeaking noises. You can postpone the inevitable replacement of those bushings with a cheap and easy DIY fix using a can of spray silicone lubricant to saturate all of those rubber bushings. That's a band-aid, not a joint replacement. But it might stop the squeaking. It's worth a try for less than $10.
Thanks Stuart. Its worth a try... Ill put on the band aid for now.. but will look for a permanent solution as well. Cheers |
Issues still up

My mechanic says if i i repla this mount the noise should minimize https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...5cb58ec0cb.jpg He says to replace number 22.. Please do let me know if you feel there is any legitimacy to this.. Thanks |
There is a service bulletin for rear-springs creaking like that.
But your problem is most likely the sway bar bushings. I have the same issue, sprayed it down with WD-40 and lubricant and it when away. But as mentioned above, it's only a temp fix. |
