Tata - Biggest Quarterly Loss in Indian Corp History
#21
Let them eat ****. These phuckos can't think straight. I wont make excuses for them. The only good thing Ive seen from them is the Sportbrake and Ftype. Ive weathered Jags woes since the 80s. TATA is spread thin... if only there was a British financier who would buy the marque and do what should be done. But those days may never come as the price always goes up.

As example, Tata made $4billion in net profit from Tata Consulting alone (their IT company)
Dont forget Ford had to shed Jaguar.
Tata is heaven-sent, they let Jaguar do what they want with a blank check. Probably why they have a true competitor to Tesla ahead of others.

In bat-crazy- we only want electric vehicles- we will ban all petrol and diesel cars- Netherlands....
Where Tesla was #1 and #2, Nissan was #3, BMWi3 was #4....
And the above 3 had a first movers advantage.....
Jaguar I-Pace has become #1

He sold 3 of them for nearly a million dollars. Slap-on-the-face on so many levels.
I think I need to stop fighting delusion, if they want to build castles in the sky, the joke is on me if I am not charging for blueprints.

(Reuters) - Quote: "Ford Motor Co told British Prime Minister Theresa May that it is stepping up preparations to move production out of Britain, The Times reported on Tuesday.
The automaker told the prime minister during a private call with business leaders that it is preparing alternative sites abroad, The Times said.
Ford was not immediately available for comment". End quote.
Jaguar engines are made at one of two plants that Ford have in the UK and yes I understand that the Jaguar engine is not a Ford engine.

Its for precisely times like this, where a nation cannot be held hostage.
Did we forget, 'Give us the tools and we will get the job done'.
Give Jaguar a Billion to develop an engine and they could have created as many jobs.
Germany understands that equation and perhaps why they deserve to win.
Worse, Britain is not a Canada or Mexico, it virtually invented the automotive industry and reigned supreme.
Weak as water the lot of them!

This video is an eye opener.
Who is doing well in the car industry. No one. And it will shock you how much better Jaguar did compared to its much bigger rivals like Lexus. And its more sophisticated contemporary like Alfa 4C (same price)

If I read it correctly, anything that sells as much as a Jaguar is a failure? lol
I was surprised that Ftype outsold Audi A8. They give those away for sign-on bonus. Its an extraordinarily ugly car.

Why don't they just say Jaguar as a brand since each line is basically on the list (except F Pace which will be on the 2020 list). When did Alfa become a mainstream brand in the USA, yet Maserati is not on the list? 4C is as mainstream as a Lotus.
A good buddy works at a Lexus dealer. They sell an amazing amount of cars a month and he's never sold an LC500. I'd like to drive one, but feel guilty asking since they'll have move it out of the showroom. If there fleet demo LC500's I would've driven one already. Could make for a compelling used car.

Another way of looking at it is.
The might of Mercedes Benz (think massive govt subsidies)
The might of Lexus (and this is their flagship)
The determination of Hyundai (also their flagship)
The subsidizing power of Audi/VW group (with the A8 and TT)
And the champion of 'loss-leader' Kia (with brand new flagship design)
All only sold as much or lower than the antiquated, outdated, has-been, 12 year old Jaguar XF. Or just as many as the so-so XJ
Hope its realized that we are talking about David vs Goliath. Mercedes Benz for instance virtually has its own universities and the Koreans have spared no expense, even hiring the top BMW guys.
Jaguar is effectively run by volunteers. The did not ****** Callum from a bigger company.

The F-type on the bottom and top end are good buys. The SUV's and hybrid are all en vogue. Buying a Jaguar sedan is a tough sell at the moment. I wish Jaguar did not go as down market on the option list as they on most lines. The F Pace and XE on the bottom end look pretty base and cheap. The lowest price models need to look more up market.

Frankly Jaguar amazes me.
As established by others, sedans and luxury sedans in particular are dead as bell-bottoms.
Well, the only thing Jaguar has been synonymous with in living memory is luxury sedans....
Yet, overnight they have transformed themselves to making all sorts of cars and being competitive.
I think how long it took Tesla to make a good electric car, even longer on the SUV. Not forgetting Tesla is 100x the company Jaguar is.
Get your arm's around this, ole pipe&slippers Jaguar is disrupting Tesla in many markets.
All while also having the best SUV and world-class sports car.
They at the very least deserve some recognition for putting up one hell of a fight
Yes they amazingly do that too now!!
" And it’s not just any old inline-six we’re getting, either—it’s a turbocharged and electrically supercharged 3.0-liter motor that’s mated to a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
That puts this engine among the most high-tech ones probably going into any car you can get right now. "

"This engine will probably find a home in a number of JLR products in the coming years. We're hoping for the next-gen F-Type because a Jaguar sports car deserves a great straight-six. "
