Think I'll Stay
A while back we had the misfortune of having our 07 vert damaged in a rear end accident. Though the repair shop did a fantastic job of putting it back to tip top shape, the miles were somewhat high and we wanted more options than it offered. (Though repairs topped out over $16k it was not totalled, can you believe?) That ment, comb the country for a replacement candidate.
We were tempted heavily to make a move to an F-type, Vette, AM or the like and all were fine examples of high performance vehicles. But in the end none tickled us with the GT comfort and performance we were used to in our XK.
Because of the late timing to get the 07 back the search for its replacement was delayed until very late in the buying season. Luckily though, a suitable and affordable 12 Vert in white was discovered in St. Pete, Fl. A short plane ride, some paper work and we were on our road trip back to north Georgia in our new ride.
We, obviously, were beside ourselves with our new kitty but an added joy was to offer the 07 to a nephew for the trade-in price the dealership offered. (having a "history" made the offer unbelievably low so we are also pursuing a dimished value claim with the insurance company.)
Of course, we are encouraging him to join the forum, having extolled the positives of not just reading but participating with us all! If your questions aren't answered here then they probably won't be available on the WWW.
Now maybe this post is all nonsense but, with much pride, it is share time that just couldn't be resisted!
Sorry F-type group, we're staying right here.
Cleaned it up and went for a long drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Obviously the newer model is tighter and I like Dynamic Mode feature (though not used much yet). I do miss the shift knob (was a burl wood mod) as it is where I naturally placed my hand while driving. The upgrades are great though, BU cam, premium sound with USB & Sat radio but it is the 5.0L power that was most noticable and exciting between the two.
One thing the 12 has that is a bit puzzling is the consol buttons that were covered in soft touch materal that turned gummy. Someone's bright idea that became a problem. I wound up using Goo Gone and a credit card to remove the covering and now feels normal.
The looks are so close there is little to be said except that it is one of the real drivers to remain with the same model. For those of us in love with X150s it is going to be hard when the supply runs out.

F vs XK
I wouldn't trade my 2007 XKR for an F-Type, (although I would for a 2012 XKR-S) cause I think they were designed for different kinds of people. The XKR is for a more mature audience.
