Default Toss a monkey wrench into the voltage game

Well I have my XKR in for the camber correction and a new set of front tires. I was given a loaner from the dealer and it is a 2016 XJ AWD 3.0L SC with 900 miles on it. Drove it back from the dealer yesterday which was a 75 mile drive all 60-70 mph roads. Ran nice. Today i went and plugged in my little cigarette lighter volt gauge into the aux port in the arm rest. To my surprise it read 15.1-15.2 volts and that was at idle as well as driving Once it went to 14.9V but that was when something turned on. Also it has the start/stop feature which I don't know if they have only 1 battery or if there is a 2nd one. When I pulled into my driveway and turned off the car the voltage went to 13.1 , 12.9 , 12.5V and sat there after 30 seconds. Aux port turned off when I locked the car. As expected this thing had almost all of the options but I would assume the charging system is the same regardless of the options. Just a little info here so I don't know what differences there would be from my 2012 XKR vs this car.

jagtoes,

My 2013 XJ 5.0L SC has the start/stop feature. There are 2 batteries in the trunk.

The primary battery (at the bottom right) is rated at 850A (AGM) and is made by FIAMM. The smaller, secondary battery (at the top right), which is used by the stop/start system, is rated at 200A and is made by Exide. The red and black alligator clips, and the red wire with the yellow-striped black female connector, are for my CTek battery maintainer.

Stuart
