Tpms problems
 
I have a 2011 xk that has intermittent tpms problems. I had all 4 sensors replaced recently.
I would like to clean the tpms receivers, where are they located?

You would gain the most info by searching this forum for "TPMS" as there are numerous threads about the ongoing problems associated with it.
Receiver on the RSJB, initiators in the wheel wells behind splash shields. Much more needs to be checked, however.

Rear Seat Junction Box. Check the Stickies section, you could probably use the Owner's Handbook. Also, try to find the Workshop Manual. Lots in there also.

If your sensors are all sending values (checked using the handheld readers a tire shop uses), then the receivers or module is bad. I replaced the module and sensors and that didn't fix it, so I disabled the entire system using SSD. An autologic scanner can do it as well.

Replaced battery
 
I had not driven car for 3 months due to snow and cold weather.
Car would not crank, replaced battery and now my tpms problems seem to have disappeared.
Battery was 5 1/2 years old.

Glad its worked out for you.

That’s what we keep telling people… some choose denial.
We also tell others that battery age has little to do with battery health. They ignore the advice then keep it on a maintainer citing “see, it’s fine”. Go figure.

My car sits for 3 months, no problems. No trickle charger ( a bad idea, btw ), nor a maintainer.

I went to car collection several years ago, he had approximately 60 nice cars and they all were on trickle chargers.

There is a difference between trickles and maintainers. Trickles run the risk of overcharging (thus destroying) the battery. Maintainers monitor the battery and shut off when there is an overcharging risk.

I went to test drive a new C7 Corvette several years ago, all four of the floor models had dead batteries. They all had maintainers connected to the car, but all the cords were tucked away inside the car. Needless to say there were no test drives that day. I returned a week later and all four were properly connected and startable.
