Default Tsb technical service bulletins for our cars? There should be a sticky!

Does anyone know where to find complete technical service bulletins for our cars ? would really appreciate it. I tried searching but have come up with sporadic results. We should make a sticky out of it when such info is available.
Would be nice to know what the dealer knows about any potential issues with our cars

You need a subscription to Alldata. I’ll ask my son since he’s a new tech.

If you are going to pay for a subscription why not just subscribe to Topix for an hour and download them all? These are all the TSB's currently listed for the 2008 XK. They also have all of the Special Service Messages and Field Actions (recalls)

I can create a sticky for TSB's. Given the number of these, the best way I see to do it is to have a first post which lists them all with links to the actual files in forum offline file storage on MediaFire. If members post additional TSB's in the thread, the first post can be edited accordingly by any Moderator and the new TSB added to file storage.

Graham I would be happy to donate a paid hosting account so that they do not get wiped out, when these free sites change hands.

An easily accessible repository would be great. But just for the record......

By law, in the USA at least, manufacturers must make all the TSBs, recall bulletins, and the like available to the public. In theory, at least, you could ask your dealer for them or contact Jaguar. I'm not sure how much cooperation you'd get.

In the back of your owners manual there may be specific contact information regarding this.

Cheers

Doug,

I think JLR would argue they are available to everyone because they are posted on TOPIx but there is an acess charge. Do US laws/regulations require manufacturer information to be "available" or "freely available"?

Hmmm. I'm not sure.

Back in my dealership days 'the factory' always instructed us to provide TSBs to customers when requested, and we did so without argument, and free of charge. Of course we hadn't neither the time nor inclination to look up and provide every TSB for xxx-model of car. Way too much work. We'd advise the customer to contact corporate in those cases.

There was a time, and perhaps still, when the owners manuals gave instructions on how to obtain TSBs. I don't know if that was an actual requirement.

Making this info available to consumers is a positive thing IMO, for obvious reasons. However, there is a downside, albeit a small one.

Since the info must be available to consumers, it must first be edited and vetted for public consumption. That is, the legal eagles must review it. This sometimes added months of delay in getting TSBs to dealerships.

Cheers

Simply use the search function in the link and change to your desired make and model year.

I did that ,and even though I selected 08 , still got irrelevant tsbs for the 5.0 cars, that why I question if the site gets updated and if all the relevant info is there

There are plenty of other sites that have similar info, such as this one...

Jaguar XK technical service bulletins

And on there you will locate 74 TSB's specific to the 2008 XK... Service bulletins of the 2008 Jaguar XK

When I first read and responded to this thread, I thought members wanted a "sticky" thread location for original Jaguar TSB documents. From the way it has developed this doesn't appear to be the case.

I still think we do. The various sites out there are inconsistent and full of omissions. I recently posted a forum improvement suggestion tsb's but didn't get any comments so maybe its us X150 owners that care. Anyway if you can help GGG I for one would be very thankfull.

I know that all manufactures have to provide TSB's to The National Highway Transport Administration NHTSA and they are "public domain information" so "freely available". Unfortunately extracting them from the NHTSA site is painful.
