Upper grille fitment 2011 v. 2012
 

I know that despite receiving a facelift from 2009 to 2010 via an updated front bumper*, the upper grille fitment did not change, however in 2012 the bumper & upper grille did change again.

My question is, does anyone know if the upper grille from 2012 onward will fit 2011 & prior?

*For those who are interested, the updated 2010-2011 bumper will fit 2007-2009.

I was going to update my last XKR 175 by replacing the chrome upper grill with the 2012-on upper grill and chrome retaining trim. However, after carefully measuring the grills the 2011-before upper grill is larger and I determined the upgrade would not work.

Does anyone know why Jaguar enlarged the grill opening for 2012. Was it due to a cooling issue or was it just cosmetic.

The 2012-on upper grille is about 3/8" smaller and has a trim ring. Only cosmetic.
