After reading this thread I immediately ran out to my garage to check on this - and fortunately the hoses had been upgraded and no longer had plastic hoses on these babies. Thanks for the tip.

wait ,upgraded with what? Didn't know there were any upgrades for these hoses from Jaguar

I reinforced mine with a triangle piece of cardboard and gorilla tape. Will replace it eventually but only have 25k miles on car at the moment.
Thats a very poor design where that Y comes together with no reinforcement and to be such a critical safety issue.

I thought that using plastic for the cooling lines was bad enough risking the detonation of our engines....now hearing this is way over the top with safety risk..Thanks so much for sharing. Just think how many owners out there have no clue to this risk! Is this issue specific only to the Jaguar 5.0 engines?

Could we get a list of the part #'s for all the vacuum lines?

I've had a hard time finding the one that comes from the vacuum pump.
I've changed the rest along with the vacuum pump seal.
