What is Difference Between Ebony & Ultimate Black?

Anyone know the difference between these two? Which is lighter and which one has metallic in it?

Ultimate Black is metallic, Ebony is plain gloss black. I had a different car in black metallic before my XK in Ebony, and I'd say its essentially a trade-off. The metallic flakes definitely help hide dirt (or at this time of year, pollen), and can look really cool when the sun hits it right. The ebony on the other hand is that deep, rich black color. When both are clean, the ebony will appear "darker", but I would have been happy with either color.

Gotcha. That Ebony looks stunning when clean. And I suppose you're right about the trade off. So mine is apparently Ebony Black. Have not seen in person yet but will this week!

I hadn't seen one in Ebony before I bought mine, either. Even though it was new, the paint was not in great shape when I got it (I assume from sitting around and being washed over and over). They had waxed it so it looked ok, but when I cleaned the wax off it was kind of swirled up. I took some time with the DA polisher and some very light polish (swirl X) and now it looks really good.

I just got back from going out to lunch... as we were coming out of the restaurant, a guy in a black corvette pulled into the parking lot, pulled around, slowed down and stopped next to where my car was parked. After he stopped for a few seconds he just pulled away and left the parking lot again. So... I guess it looks pretty good =]

Good luck, don't forget to come back and post pics.
