Wheel Arch Spats
#25
I suspect besides for protection there are some state laws that require something like this. In NYS it is illegal to have the tire outside of the vehicle fender. Vehicles that were not sold with fenders are exempted. Although I see some of these wide spacer or make believe off roaders it's just another excuse for the LEO's to pull you over and ticket you. As I mentioned in another post the police can stop you pretty much any time they want with the tons of laws we have on the books.

But if I didn't have them and wanted that look, I'd buy them in a heartbeat for $100 because they were designed and engineered to fit the wheel arch perfectly with the proper fasteners to prevent corrosion with the aluminum body. Sure, you might be able to fabricate something similar, but how much would you save when you take the value of your time into account?

Thanks. I'll give it a try without removing the wheels. And, I'll try watching the language!

You know, I think your friend is absolutely right. When I'm tense (read "pissed off!") about a project not going well, a few sentences with a bunch of my favorite expletives usually does make me feel a little better.
