Default Why does LG V40 thin q not have pairing capability to 2014 Jaguar XKR

2014 Jaguar XKR Coupe not downloading phone book from my new LG V40 thin Q. Went to car dealer and to ATand T where I bought phone. My lower model LG V30 had no problem pairing to same car with total download of my phonebook. Why is the newer technology phone less capable than the older technology phone?

Welcome to the forum teducka,

I've moved your question from F-Type to XK/XKR forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

That's not a Jaguar problem; it's the phone manufacturer's failure to make that 2018 model phone Bluetooth-compatible with the earlier technology in your 2014 XKR.

You might have to get a 2018 F-Type!

Seriously, I don't know if it's possible to replace the Bluetooth module in your 2014 XKR with a later version. You might want to return that LG phone and get a different brand that works with your car. That's probably the least costly solution .

Its user error.
There is no technology difference between the V30 and V40.

The V30 has bluetooth 5.0 the highest standard of bluetooth ever made.

Very funny, if an intentional misteak. Otherwise, not qualified to represent The Queen's English!
