XKR 75 Photos

Someone asked me to put up some images of my XKR 75, since it's a model not seen outside Europe. Also known as the Anniversary or the Goodwood Limited Edition; roughly speaking, it's equivalent to the Dynamic Pack but with 20 extra HP. So here are some shots I took this weekend:

Beautiful! Is it completely stock?

muncher 06-04-2013 06:26 PM

Very nice!

Wow! I love it.

That is a slightly good looking car ;-)

Yes, that's the standard car. The only change made is that it was originally fitted with the optional 'mascara' stripes; the dealer removed them before I bought the car, which was fine by me since I was planning to do it anyway. Some like 'em, some don't; make your own mind up from this promo pic:

Very nice.

My quest for the body pieces you have continues. I don't know that I will ever get them, but I will continue trying. Well, I have the larger spoiler and I can buy the front splitter.

The height of your car looks good - not too high, not too low. I think 10 to 15MM would be fine. That I can do and will do in the near future.

I think this was listed in another thread, but is yours listed as 530BHP? (with the 20 extra Ponies? )

I've asked Jaguar to confirm the exact configuration for an article I'm going to write for Jaguar Enthusiast. It looks like the "lowered 15mm at the front and 10mm at the back", which was in the Jag press release that was quoted by all the reviews at the time, may not be correct. Figures I got from u102768 indicate that both the Dynamic Pack and the XKR-S are 11mm lower at the front and 10mm at the rear, and I believe the 75 has the same suspension package.

It has 530PS, or 523bhp - the standard XKR is 510PS, or 503bhp. PS is (effectively) metric horsepower, based on a German DIN standard which now seems to be Europe-wide - it's short for Pferdestärke, the German word for horsepower. It's just measured under slightly different conditions, so you don't get the same figure.

Rumour has it that the engines actually put out more like 540PS - again, I've asked Jag to comment. But, as Rolls Royce used to say, it's "sufficient".

I wish they had made those available in the US. The Vortex diamond cut wheels are perfect.

Beautiful vehicle - don't change a thing on the body - they don't come any better!!

No, I'm leaving the car stock - it looks so good and and goes so well, why mess with it? I prefer the look of the Speed Pack bodykit to the R-S styling, which is a bit too "in yer face" for my liking. I might get Paramount to push the limiter up to 186 before I go for some 'bahnstorming later in the year, but I don't think I'll look for an engine boost - there's too much torque for the tyres as it is.

The attached press release for the 75 says 10mm front and rear.

Guess it got mangled in translation; the Autocar, Evo, BuyACar and NetCarShow reviews say "15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear", Top Gear says "running 15mm lower". Only the Telegraph and Car Enthusiast say "10mm all round". Or perhaps the car shown at Goodwood had 15mm at the front, but they decided that was a bit low for road use.

As I've said, I've asked Mike Cross for clarification, and one of his team has been in touch to say they're working on my list of queries :icon_woot:

Brilliant - really just stunning. Love the larger rear spoiler, other than that all the differentiating cues are subtle but very effective.

As far as I know, it's the same as the Speed Pack, which "includes a body coloured Aerodynamic Pack with front splitter and larger rear spoiler, body coloured rear diffuser and side sill extensions".

That is one beautiful Jaguar, however, someone installed the steering wheel on the wrong side :icon_wink:

I stumbled across this today:

Yeah, saw that, which was one of the 'convincers' for me to buy it.

And yes, it's LOUD when you stand on it. I was on a country lane a couple of weekends back, giving one of my mates a lift; he had the passenger's window down to listen to the sound. We got stuck behind a cyclist in a narrow, twisty section with banks & high hedges on each side. Then we came to a short corkscrew where I could see just far enough ahead, and I booted it - wow, what a noise! It just resonated between the banks. I think I nearly gave the poor bugger on the bike a heart attack
