I don't know - I'd say your best upgrade would be the Alcon package, since it was designed for the 4.2.
Hello,
I have a 2010 XKR I wNt to convert to alcon.
I have calipers, discs and pads.
Just wondering if the parking brake cables of the stock 2010 XKR would be same as the required for the alcons.
If I need these cables, could anyone help me with the part numbers to order for lh and rh ?
Thanks a million,
Seb

I'm gonna necro this thread.
I'm considering going to less dusty brake pads, and slotted rotors for my 4.2L, and it is about time for a brake fluid flush.
Nearly all the labor in a switch I'll be encountering. Seems to me that if 5.0L XKR brake parts are a direct swap, this would be a good time to approach. I'm frequently at locations without internet right now, so its a little difficult for me to personally dig and research.
Calipers, caliper mounts, rotors, pads, dust shields, is there anything else different? Aftermarket on calipers & mounts vs stock?

Digging around today I found a post regarding aftermarket.
It looks like the different OEM setups are the way to go. I still wonder what I would need beyond Calipers, Rotors, and Pads to go with the 2010+ XKR brakes on my 2007 XK.

I just went through a a few months of finding brakes for the my '13 XKR and talked to Brembo, Alcon, AP and no one makes the correct brackets and calipers that fit other then Alcon. Alcon made a 6 piston front and 4 piston rear optional for the the portfolio edition.
Now comes the fun part they are out of stock worldwide as I spent the past month with SNG Barrett finding the right parts. They did a fantastic job finding the parts but it took jag putting out a world wide search for them. If you want a brake upgrade I suggest contacting Tony at SNG as I know he has a right side caliper in stock but will probably have to search for the left.
Finding brakes for this car is NO joke in effort as I found out, but am very happy with the results.
BTW When i spoke with Brembo they were going to try and make a custom kit but decided it wasn't worth the effort, so I doubt those fit properly. Please don't take chances with brakes as it can be obviously very dangerous.
