XKR-S Replacement engine / Tune/ Upper& Lower pulleys
MY 2012 XKR-S engine grenaded just driving down the highway. Found a used engine from a 2016 SVR and decided to upgrade the pullys/ charge cooler and tune the car while the engine is out. Has anyone had experience with Paramount/ Viezu product? Will keep you guys posted on my rebuild. I take the car on rallys and shows and will be exciting to see how this works out on the road.

My experience with them was not good.
My experience with Stuart from Velocity was fantastic. He knows these engines like the back of his hand and has used former Jag employees to develop the tune. SVR is his specialty, you can find him on the thread link below. Could you reciprocate and share with us what you think happened to your engine. Thanks. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...8s-v8r-158091/ |
I can vouch for Velocity AP. I have their 200 cell cats and absolutely love them! Why not try Larini for your exhaust? Love the tone.

Interesting - Thanks for your link. Those BC guys certainly seem like they know what they are talking about. I called Paramount in the UK this morning and had a good long chat with the people over there. My tech at Budds JLR in Oakville has done pulleys/tune on using Paramount. Always interesting to get more information.
As to what happened to my engine. They are not sure yet. Will get an update and share with you. Normally these engines are workhorses so everone was surprised. Especially me!. |
Stuart is from UK, in fact, he somewhat showed the guys at Viezu the ropes.

I had AlexJag do the tune for me. Mine isn’t SC but the power increase after the tune is unreal. Give him a PM

I know that one used-to-be forum member used EuroToys parts and tune and got over 100 extra HP. He added two pulleys, improved intercooler and the tune. Cost him like $5k and he did the work himself.

I have to admire people's tenacity - blow up tuned engine, turn around and say lets do it again. Even financial considerations aside, I'd be irked by the hassle of it (and having my car down for long period).

FYI. In stock form I kept up with them albeit with my brakes smoking. |

Agreed -someone famous once said to "add lightness" for performance. So True
Stock-the RS surprises everyone with its ability to keep up and sometimes pass the big boys- I have taken it to the track and the drag strip- The only thing I have been warned about has been traction being rear wheel drive once the upgrades are complete. I did switch out my tyres to Michelin PS4S Im running 395's on the rears on the stock rims. What a difference that made! Would heartily recommend those to anyone that is engaged in spirited driving. |
395's ????? On stock rims? Are you sure this is the case? Typo?

I'd be doing a Liberty Walk conversion to fit 395's |

As far as tuning the XKR-S as long as its a Denso Ecu which I believe it is, I can tune it and get a substantial amount of power out of it. |

Committed now!. After much deliberation consultation and research. I have decided on Viezu/ Paramount for my upgrade goodies. I trust this is the right decision - only time will tell. Whatever happens I shall keep posting on my experiences with this new chapter.
Side note. I also ordered EBC yellow stuff brake pads for the rears and RK rotors. Any insights would be great. This is the first time I am deviating from the OEM pads rotors. These were ordered as a kit from TDot Performance. It feels like i know what I'm getting for Christmas and can't wait::icon_tree: |
