XKR Tune

I had been kicky around what I could do to improve the performance of my cat without a bunch a cash involved as I just finished the 4 Alcon rebuilds w/ all new pistons, rotors and Porterfield RS-4 pads.

I searched around over the past year and really didn’t want to do any bolt-ons although they are not out of the picture completely. My car is completely stock. #19 fuse pulled that’s it.

Then I can across the guy on this forum who goes by AlexJag. I made contact and we discussed some details for about 2 weeks as I’m not a computer/code guy. I use to tune making runs, push the clutch/neutral kill the engine read the plugs jet the carbs up or down and change springs in the distributor Yada yada..

Once I received the equipment. Alex walked me thru wire by wire step by step. I needed that detail...remember I’m ‘Oleguy. The process was fairly simple and about 8 hrs. I’m on the east coast he west cost.

I am pleased with what he had improved upon. It is definitely quicker 0-70. I would venture to say it took 1/4 sec off 0-60 easily and probably 1/2 sec off 1/4 mile. Although I have no proof of that time gain only by 'seat of the pants' and previous launches. After I communicated what I thought, Alex said given his run times at the track during development stages on his car he figured I was probably right on in my estimates. He said I should get better mileage.....I just won’t notice that.

I have to much fun jumping on that cat’s tail and listening to that unmistakable XKR sound we’ve come to love from both ends! In between the Pa rains.
