hood bows XK120
Need some help with paint code for hood bows for 1954 XK120.
they are a greenish grey.
Just need to paint the right colour
Is painting or powder coating the best option ?
thanks from New Zealand

If you do have original paint on the bows, I suggest you go to an automotive paint shop and look for a colour match. Original paint codes from that era seem to have disappeared.
It is very likely that the original paint is an automotive synthetic enamel. Most Jags and their parts made in the 1950s were finished in synthetic enamel.
e.g. I wrote to Jaguar in the early 1970s requesting the original paint for my 1954 Mk7 and the reply was "Brolite synthetic enamel - colour Arabian Black".
I am a little wary of powder coating on lightweight items as the heat involved might cause warping.
