What kind of carburetors are these?

My friend bought them online for $100, but there was no description on them, I know they are sand casted SUs, but I don't know where they came from. Maybe from an early XK Jag was my guess. I don't think they have a float on them, so maybe they are from an airplane, who knows.

I wanted to know what they are, and what they are for. The damper is plastic, probably not the original, since I think they were brass, but I know very little. If I remember correctly, the body is 3 3/4'' in diameter. I can get for specs soon,

Well, as you say, they certainly look like SUs, but they're nothing like any I have ever seen ! And with no float bowls, they could be from an aircraft, I suppose. Try asking Burlen Fuel Services: -

Edit
Jus thinking they might have been the ones fitted to Coventry Climax fire pump engines.

I'm thinking of Hitachis off a Datsun Z-car or similar.
