Default 04 XKR Coolant Change Change Help

I bought Orange Pestone DEX- COOL that meets the Jag specification, Pulle dup the procedure won JITIS, removed the Supercharger Top Plug using a 19MM hex head bolt for an Allen wrench, Jacked up the Car, Removed the Generator Cooling Duct Cover per JITIS.

DUH ??? No I can't find the Radiator Drain Plug. The JITIS drawing sucks. It shows the Plug and some undefined outlines around it. I assumed it might be above the Duct Cover that was removed in the center.

Where is the Drain Plug located. Front, rear, our underside of the Radiator and on what side?

Thanks for the help.

Looking from the rear of the car, it is on the bottom right corner on the rear of the radiator. It is hard to see but you're looking for a 1/2" black plug with a + slot on top. Just to the right of the radiator rubber flap and a large screw driver will remove the plug. The plug has a slot on the threads so you can semi-direct the fluid, still makes a mess though.

I'll ask just in case - you know to drain the supercharger cooler too?

Really awkward to spot and not helped by being the same black plastic as the radiator.

Take care because the plastic is soft and easily damaged.

The next post shows a photo of the plug in the well written procedure. No wonder I couldn't find it. Mine has a Rad support bracket gong from the crossmmber that pretty much obsures the plug from below. Now to figure out how to get a screwdriver in there.

I was assuming the Supercharger Cooler would drain through the radiator. Am I incorrect ? JITIS mentions removing the plug and topping off from the top, but nothing special on draining.

Thanks for the Procedure. It's great having photos. I couldn't find the plug because from the bottom it's barely visible because of a Rad support bracket being below the plug. I should be able to wivvggle a stubby screwdriver in thre and turn it with small water pump pliers.

The supercharger cooling circuit also needs to drained, compared to the radiator it is a walk in the park. The plug is located on the front lower right of the cooler, when looking from the front of the car. Is only fitted finger-tight so should not be hard to get out. The black knurled plug in the attached photo is the one you are after.
The supercharger fills from the the main cooling circuit so the big supercharger fill plug you've already removed is only used to top it off. Do this with the ignition on so that the supercharger cooling pump runs to help remove any air in the system.

Thanks Mountaincat for the great pictures in the attachment. I've recently acquired a 2003 XKR convertible - with minimal service history - so I have no idea if or when the coolant and the thermostat have been changed. I'll get to it this weekend !
