'05 or '06 Bumper on an '03?
 

I was looking at pics of various XK8's and I noticed that the front bumper is different on the newer models. Would an '05 or '06 bumper work on an '03? And if so, would it just clip right on, or would I have to do all sorts of modifications?

I'm specifically referring to the bit that hangs down below the shark mouth. That's not on the 2003 bumper

I believe it is a straight bolt on but cannot guarantee it. The grill trim for both the XK8 and XKR were different on the 05-06 so the overrider covers may need to be altered or better yet get the newer grill of your preference.

I know some have commented on how they prefer the older style however the new style performs a critical function. I have seen quite a few oil coolers bashed up on with the older style nose. The newer style protrudes below the oil cooler so when you do hit a curb or wheel stop you damage the nose rather than the oil cooler. Sure paint is expensive but if you don't notice the oil cooler damage the engine replacement would cost a lot more.
