2000 XKR Entry Fob Battery
Hi there
My alarm fob just stopped working today and I never got a second one
3 questions
1. Does anyone know a brand and part number of the battery please , so I can grab one.
2. Did I read somewhere that I have to take out and put back in under 30 seconds or I need a system reset?
3. I know if I searched I could find out , but , where do I buy an after market fob , cause I'll bet the original would be dear and what do I have to do to get it programmed.
Pete

battery for fob
peter,
I can help you with the battery type if your fob is the same as mine
CR2016
not sure about the 30 second time limit because I have had mine apart to clean the contact points on the circuit board for several minutes multiple times
remember the battery orientation when you open it so you put the new ones in the same way
I goofed and had to open the second one to get it right
warning: do not press the buttons when opening the fob or closing it
I used a butter knife near the ring hole to open it with a twist
As for programming I am not sure but I would like to think a dealer should be able to do it...for money of course!
hope this helps
