2002 XK8 Coupe - Speaker Replacement
 

Hi All, I've read countless threads regarding speaker replacement (including schematics) yet I'm still unclear on the speaker setup on the 2002 XK8 coupe with factory radio and Alpine audio system. I am especially unclear on the rear speakers...

I would like to replace all speakers.

I am looking at the Infinity Kappa 60.11CS Component speaker system for the front. 2 - 6 3/4 in woofers and two tweeters with crossovers.


For the rears, this is where I am really unsure on what I need. Crutchfield told me I need two woofers for the rear sides (same as the woofers above). Yet, in some of the threads here, it seems that folks are installing 2 6.5" subwoofers in the rear sides.

Additionally, I believe I have a sub on the back rear deck. I read at one time that this is a 10" subwoofer?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sure we have plenty of audio experts here so here's the Coupe Premium Sound System Speaker layout to try to prompt some help for you:

1. doors and rear quarters - identical 6 inch speakers (item 2)
2. parcel shelf - 8 inch sub woofer (item 7)
3. dashboard top - 2.5 inch (item 1)
4. door tops - tweeters (item 6)

The advice you've received from Crutchfield may be confusing the Coupe and Convertible layouts.
