Default 2003 XKR Dark Metallic Grey Trim paint

I am looking for a paint match on the trim paint used on the rear view mirror trim, window trim and bumper license mounts. I tried on line touch up paint retailers who referred me to the dealer. The dealer doesn't know and has no recommendation!!?

Any help here is much appreciated.

The dark gray metallic trim is an older Jaguar color called Dorchester Gray, code 342 or LDP. It is a basecoat and should be used with a clear topcooat.

This company makes excellent matches at reasonable prices: 1988 Jaguar All Models Colors of Touch Up Paint

Most dealers will not know this, because the gray parts are pre-painted at the factory.

IF you want to go cheap and easy and get really close, Duplicolor graphite wheel paint is almost indistinguishable (metallic flakes are slightly larger, but color is identical). I'm surprised Steve (WhiteXKR) mention it since he was the one that originally told me.

I went ahead and ordered the Dorchester Grey from Paint Touch Up. I will let you know how well it matches. What is ironic is that I ordered the touch up paint for the car from them and what followed was a string of emails asking them if they new what color the trim is. They had no idea and referred me to the dealer. I will let them know as well.

The interesting thing is Dorchester Gray, code 342, does not show on AutomotiveTouchup.com's color charts after 1989. Therefore trying to locate it in a 1990 or later year model color chart, it will not be found. In this case it helps to know the proper color code when placing your order. It does not show as a trim color.

All the best,
BK
