2004 XK8 overflow tank???/grease fittings
 
my 1999 vdp has overflow tank in the lower left front with connecting hose to resavoir .x..does the 2004 have a tank??? also could someone tell me how many grease fittings and approximately where they might be so I can check with my guy when he says there are none????? Thank you it advance. Ed

The coolant overflow is hidden behind the passenger fender liner.

AFAIK the only grease fittings are on the u-joints. Aftermarket ball joints may have them but yours are probably still original anyway.

There are a total of (4) grease fittings that I know of. They are on the U-joint ends of the half-shafts from the rear wheels to the diff, so (2) at the diff end, and (2) on the wheel end. They can be reached with the car on ramps, but you can be unlucky in the rotation and have the fittings be less than readily accessible. Easiest to service is on a lift of course. To my knowledge, there are none on the main driveshaft, or trans output flange, etc.

As the engine heats up, excess coolant from the Coolant Reservoir (a.k.a. Expansion Tank) passes to the Atmospheric Recovery Bottle behind the RH wheelarch liner.

As the engine cools, coolant is drawn back from the Atmospheric Recovery Bottle to the Coolant Reservoir.
