Default '97 XK8 Headligh Bulb Replacement

I just replaced my totaled coupe (see my gallery) with a nearly identical one in pretty good shape (hooray). However, I need to replace a headlight bulb.

I've cranked the wheel over and removed the access panel in the fender well and can get my hand on the lamp housing, but then I'm stuck.

Before I disassemble the entire front end of the car, I hope someone can tell me what I'm missing and/or give me the specific steps for access.

Thanks in advance!

There is a plastic cap covering the rear of the bulb. Slight turn and it should come off. Then there is a spring clip holding the bulb in place. Bulb and wire harness come out together. Helps to be able to see in there.

Remember not to touch the bulb.

High beam bulb is accessed from under the hood.

Thanks! Getting the cap off "blind" was what had me hung up - just couldn't get enough leverage and was afraid I was going to snap something off.

A little brute force did the trick.

I put some silicon grease on the inside of the cap onto the "O" ring to keep it soft and to keep water out. It's easy to get the cap off now!
