I have a 97 xk8 w/178000. miles on it Just had the transmission gone through complete master kit they rebuilt the torque converter, rebuilt the valve body, after driving it a few miles it was having a flare from 3rd to 4th, they thought maybe it was still adapting. the next day it started flaring between 1st and 2nd as well as 3rd and 4th with a slight hit in 4th, they suspected the valve body so they installed a brand new one with no change. They then dropped the tranny and went through it looking for something they may have missed. they found nothing, they still believe it should adapt on its own. These guys are a very reputable shop and have done dozens of jaguar tranny's. Some say that in 97 jag used different tcm's and some need to be re- flashed after a transmission rebuild, and some do not. does anybody know if that is true and if so which one .
