Default '99 XK8 Venting/rear Window Problem

I have 99 XK8, the problem is the venting/rear windows will not go back up after having the roof down. I have had some issues with the sunroof motor not working at 100% and Ive had to manually close the roof. in the past i have gottena a light come on that says the roof is not closed, until i manual lock it. this time that is not the case. Any ideas on what it could be. Not sure what fuses to check, I don't see them in the manual.

Trevor...the first two items to check are if the fluid level is always between the two embossed lines on the tank and if that the petcock on the tank is firmly turned clockwise. Also, if your fluid is not green colored, it needs to be flushed and updated.

Have you tried a hard reset? Sometimes this works miracles on sketchy electronics. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ect-faq-74146/ Mine is a MY 2001 and usually only requires a front window reset after the battery fix.

Then cycle the top up and down several times COMPLETELY to make sure it wasn't just confused. Hopefully that fixes it. If not, more folks will jump in shortly with other suggestions.

There are three micro switches in the top operation, one on the right ram and two at the top latch. One of the latch switches advises the Body Control Module that it is time to raise the windows.

. . . but then . . . you should check the fuses also. That is for a 2002 MY but generally applies to all years.
