ABS Pump
Hi all
Have just had the car back from the dealer who was checking out a TRAC / ASC warning light. They initially thought it was the nearside wheel speed sensor & harness which they changed - for $384.88 + tax (:-0). Light stayed on. OBD reported C1095 - something to do with the pump motor circuit. They say it may be a false negative since they did a hard reset & the light went out, but they explained something to me about pump motor resistance. It went something like this...(transcribed as well as I recall).. A new ABS pump motor would provide 0.7ohm resistance, mine was 3ohms A new ABS pump motor voltage with key off would be 4.67v, mine was 1.07v A new ABS pump motor voltage with key on would be 7.96v, mine was 7.96v I'm told everything is OK & that everything is safe, but to go see them again if the light comes back on. Any thought's? Jof |
my ABS/stability control can be counted on to light up every three or four months. It usually clears with the clear button on the dash after one or two short trips. I am not concerned about the periodic fault on my car (1999 XK8).
When it stays on permanently, I'l fix it. |
Wow! Never thought about pressing the clear button to get rid of an error message before! Always thought it was just for the tripometer ;-)
How the blatently obvious smacks you in the face every once in a while! Jof |
