Default Aftermarket Audio Head in my 2000 XK8

Hi everybody, this is my first post so feel free to point out anything I did wrong/need to change.

Alright now to the question. I am looking for the best audio head unit for my 2000 Jaguar XK8 that will work well with an iPhone 5. I would like it to have the lightning cable so it charges as well, but that's not required. After scouring through audio post it seemed they were all out of date so hopefully we can get a new one going here. Also I have no use for the CD's so if it disables that, that is fine. I'm pretty handy with electronics and such, but never really worked on things like this before, so hopefully something fairly easy to install.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks man, you said you didn't install it yourself right? How much did it cost to have it installed?

Have a look at my setup here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-80437/page2/

I followed a lot of good advice from this forum. I wanted a touch screen replacement for the out dated sat nav, but there isn't a simple solution currently, although DesignXKR are working on one.

My stereo allows me to use my ipod, hook up to my phone via BT and I've since installed the steering wheel remote and upgraded the front speakers to 2 way components.

Hard to say because I had it done in stages. But, the mount that is on the side of the console only needs one screw that you really can't see. The phone mount was $50 (maybe) to install it. The customized faceplate was made out of fiberglass and was probably $100. I don't recall how much it was to install the headunit.

Regardless, I didn't (couldn't) do any of it.

Just had my 02 convertible changed to JVC touch screen single din avx77 unit.
Used existing speakers, ran front through the head unit and put rear on separate amp. Existing amp didn't work.
Had it connected to the steering wheel controls as well.
Tis unit has streaming Bluetooth, cd, all input charges my phone, DVD, capture screen saver, proximity setting to hide controls until your hand gets close.
Love it! Pricy though.
Paid 700.00 for install. Had to order fascia and spacer.
