Alternative to brembo's
I have done a lot of searching but still can't get a clear answer. I need new front disc rotors and pads for a 2004 XKR with cross-drilled green and silver Brembo's on Detroit wheels. Jaguar here in Tokyo gave me a quote which was probably comparable to other countries but still way over my budget. I was hoping Akebono's might be a good alternative as I can source them easily here but it seems they don't make suitable replacements. I have a mechanic who can do the work (Jaguar Japan won't touch it if it's not Brembo) but he's not sure what's best for a 2004 XKR with Brembo's. I think Jaguar estimated around $3,000, but I could pay up to around half that, particularly as I'll have to do the rears within a year. I did look up SNG Barretts but couldn't figure out which brands I should avoid, so I thought ask the you guys directly.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you are happy to import from the US (or UK), forum sponsor S N G Barratt offer OE Brembo and aftermarket alternative Brake Discs:
https://www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/English/search
OE Brembo Brake Pads and aftermarket alternatives are also available from S N G Barratt:

Alternative brake pads are a regular topic for discussion on the forum as members dislike the brake dust issues with OE pads. There are several aftermarket sources.

Dogsoup the Brembo Man
These are from FrozenRotors.com They have over 50,000 Miles of Houston driving on them...Stop & Go and they still look good, both the Hawk Pads and the Rotors
Their Rotors are (Front Drilled $281.26 and the Rears are $213.86) As I said, I've used them since 2009 and never had a problem...Call and tell Mark (the Owner) that Billy Clyde in Houston told you to call....He will help you out!

Hi guys, just a quick update on my search for replacement brembos. I ordered OEM's from Barratts UK for a great price and super quick delivery. The import tax into Japan was pretty small, about $25.00 for the front set. My mechanic here thought the pads were genuine. Anyway, thanks for all of your suggestions and a thumbs up to Barratts. Will be using them again as I may need to replace the radiator in the near future.

Which rear rotors did you end up putting on your 2004 xkr ? Have the same problem...
Thank you.

Hi Alexander the great, sorry for the late reply. I did replace the rear brake pads a few months ago with parts from SNG Barratts but according to my mechanic the rear disks still had another year or so of life left in them. He ground them slightly to get rid of any irregularities from the older worn brake pads. So far no problems. The front rotors and pads were OEM's from SNG Barratts which were a great price and perform fine.
Anyway, I'll definitely use Barratts again for the rear discs in the future.
