Default Battery replacement 02 xkr

I'm going to be changing my battery pretty soon. I wanted to know if there was any certain specs I need to know about and what kind of battery or brand I should get? I want to be sure before pulling the plug off the old one.

The type you order if a direct replacement is vented. Make sure you have the vent hose either from the old one or they should supply a vent hose with the new battery. You should also get a battery tender if you don't drive it daily. A low voltage battery is the cause of most of the electrical problem posted here.

Nice car!

The principal issue is that a vented battery is required.

Some batteries that are vented capable do not have the attachment pieces supplied or installed. The vent is usually at one or both ends of the case. If installed by an auto parts store or technician ensure that the vent system is installed.

Make sure that the corrosive and explosive gas goes outside.

Other than that meet the CCA recommendations from Jaguar and get a case that matches the hold down hardware.

Where does the vent hose connect on the other end? In other words, where does it vent to?

I put in a AGM battery from NAPA in my 02 XKR coupe ( from their best line, NAPA LEGEND PREMIUM ) when I bought the car. Fit perfectly. Consistently has voltage of 12.7 V

it's this one:

Through a grommet in the boot floor. See this thread by Steve-in-ct:
