The wife and I signed up for this years BEAT rally: Phoenix to Wickenburg, to Prescott to Sedona, to Flagstaff.

This was our first year, and there were about 80 cars in all. A pretty good turn out I thought, but I understand it's somewhat less than normal. Usually the rally turns out about 120.

It grew out of the local Triumph club there there is a good showing of that mark from all years, but they have expanded it to include anything European.

Good fun was had, and some "brisk" driving on twisty roads. Somehow we ended up in front of a string that included us (XKR), 914-6, Elva, V8 Vantage and a Testarosa. That bunch was making us earn our keep, but the ole Jag didn't miss a beat and carved her way though the corners better than any 2 ton car ever should.

We start off in Phoenix, pick up a few more in Wickenburg and then make our way to Prescott where they have Whiskey Row blocked off for an impromptu car show. Everything made it there under its own power, so no trailer queens in this crowd.

We then made our way up through Sedona to Flagstaff for driver pictures, a happy hour and to spend the night.
