"Cabriolet Hydraulics" front latch rebuild

Hi
Has anyone used the services of "Cabriolet Hydraulics" of Bradenton, Fl as a preemptive method of avoiding the green shower?
You access the latch pump, cut the lines, ship them your pump & they rebuild & return to you. (Good to 10,000 psi apparently) Reinstall uses supplied couplers & a few hand tools.

Hi,

as far as i experienced the pump (trunk) as well as the latch hydraulic cylinder ( windscreen frame) are most reliable. if you intend to avoid green shower go for new hoses, specially the both from the pump to the latch.

As far as I understand it its the hoses that go not the pump. Usually above your head through the light in the middle. Have a read. Click Me

The only possible way to avoid it is to put on better hoses, not original Jaguar ones, or put in a pressure reducer at the pump end. However putting a reducer on does have its disadvantages in that some report the roof taking much longer to open/close.

Taylods,

Please do not spend money to rebuild the pump or its motor. These are super-reliable components. The only failures ever reported here (far as I know) were traced to one small, cheap component in the motor that suppresses electrical noise. There is a link in my sig. line below that covers how to fix it should should you need to.

I used Cabriolet Hydraulics for me replacement hoses - very good quality and higher rated than OEM but have not looked into any rebuild.

Rebuilding Experience

My rear rams were both leaking and I had them rebuilt by Cabriolet Hydraulics, no problems. Remember to ask for them to give you new O rings for the lines, hard to find right size.
