CD player says No Disk

When I bought the car, the #5 slot didn't work but the others did. Then, I had the battery disconnected for a few days while I reworked the headrest drive cables (using pneumatic couplers).
Upon reconnecting everything, and resetting the windows etc, now the CD player doesn't recognize discs in any slot!
Any thoughts on how to recover? Radio works fine.

Well. I apologize for cluttering the forum with unnecessary posts ... I should have suspected that this is a common problem and used the search function first. Now that I have, I see some good suggestions. CD player coming out tomorrow for a bench examination.
Would these cars be any fun if we didn't have to constantly fiddle with them?

Glad you found the links, but before you go in for the full surgery, take out the CD magazine and make sure all the CDs are inserted correctly. If they are just a little off, you will get an error. Make sure the magazine is in correctly as well for the same reason. The radio should be off during this inspection.

And all the slots on the magazine should be filled and all the CDs facing correctly. Mine doesn't work if it has less than a full house.

I know these are common sense ideas, but I have fixed mine in the past just by taking the magazine out and putting it right back in.

Mike .... you are a genius! I had no idea the magazine had to be full all the time. I loaded 6 cd's and behold! All 6 now work. You just saved me a TON of work. Thanks a million.

That's great. Glad it worked out so well. Sometimes it's the easy stuff.
