CD problems
Looking for XK8 CD changer repair shop in the US. The cancer loads CDs, spins them for 3 secs, posts NO DISC and loads the next CD. The exchange finishes wit a message "No Disc". I have it partly apart. All mechanical systems seem to be working properly.

on the bottom side of the drive, there is a white worm gear that works itself loose. take the nut off, realign then reinstall the nut with some Loc-tite and you should be good to go

I feel your pain, been there and done that. Mine acted up for years till it finally wouldn't work even after trying all my previously successful hacks. When I finally took it out and had it apart I couldn't find any reason why it shouldn't work but, I cleaned everything with electric contact clear and lubed all moving parts. It worked another time or two then acted up again. On round two I bent something or decided that I wanted a new unit and found one on eBay for @ $100. Haven't had a problem since. I would have to figure that a repair shop would charge at least that and that's if you can find a competent and willing tech to mess with it. Good luck sorry can't be more help.

In controdiction to the message, you need to oil the moving parts. I had the same issue and tried everything. Than i had e smeer the the white electronic oil on all the gutters and moving gear and everything is fine now since last year.
