Code meanings

I'm sorry, I know they are somewhere because I've seen them. Anyone know where I can find the list of all codes and meanings?

I had the car go in to RP today, then limp when I forced it. Check engine and all. Now it's all clear with no sign it ever happened????????????????

Someone was kind enough to post this and it works but now that the RP is gone, I have no codes stored. "
"1. Ignition off - hold down AUTO and RECIRCULATION buttons and
switch on the ignition
2. press AUTO button - if ZERO shows, there's no stored
error codes
3. press FACE button repeatedly to scroll through stored
fault codes
4. press FACE and HEATED REAR WINDOW buttons together to
clear a fault code.
5. repeat step 4 if there's more than one code
6. press FAN button to exit Interrogation Procedure

I'm about to start on my trip to the Keys and I'd sure like to figure out what happened and why it cleared with no trace.:icon_hyper:

I think that is for the climate control codes. You have normal engine codes. They may be stored so you can get a local auto parts store to read them. I thought we had the Pxxx codes in the FAQ but apparently do not.

Get the codes read and post and someone will respond.

Thanks Testpoint. I was sure we had them too. I was unable to find them in FAQ's etc. I'll get them read at my shop at 0800 and see what gives.

OK, My mechanic found that the upper air plenim was wiggly loose and that may explain why wiggling it turned off restrictive by closing the air leak. He got initially five codes including a bank sensor. After resetting and tracing on 5 lines? it's come down to P0121. All resets, go for a drive around the block and returning to the garage in goes into limp again. The pins on the throttle are both gold. We're now wondering if there could be a worn wire or if the ECM itself is on the fritz? He's working on that next. The throttle unit has two components that work with each other. They seem to be fine until they send it back into limp.

I don't think I'll be on the road tomorrow.

Check the tightness on the connectors to the TB plug. When I made a temporary repair I cleaned the connections with CRC electrical contact cleaner and tighten the connectors. You could have a problem with the TB.

Thanks Gus. We may have found the problem. 2 days ago I came home 100km in torrential rain. So heavy you could only see the car in front with full wipers. No problems....... till the next day. My mechanic has found enough water in the bottom of the computor tray that it was up to the level of the fan. He has dried it all out and the 021 is gone but he has 1636 and 1642 now that won't clear. Could be factory codes due to using a non Jag scanner. He's going to locate a newer scanner to see if that's the case. Car has not been road tested yet. Fingers crossed.

Car has been driven and fairly hard. No issues. Works way better without water sloshing around in the computer box. Thanks for the help guys.

Hi Roger,
I have a Scanner that we can read your codes with when you get down here.
See you,
Brian

Thanks Brian. Late Tuesday or early Wednesday we should be near you but then if Linda finds a cool plantation to visit we will delay and play it all by ear.. The weather is great.
