Code Scanner

For those who may be interested I wanted to endorse a Jaguar/Landrover Code Scanner i purchased on eBay recently. I have no financial interest in the product in any way, just a satisfied purchaser.

The unit I got is the iCarSoft i930, which cost me $149.95 delivered to me in New York.

It allows reading of DTC's for the Engine, Transmission, ABS, Body, Seats etc. etc. and gives a concise description of what the code means. It also clears the codes, and allows real-time monitoring of sensors.

I have found it invaluable in identifying the gremlins resident in my 2002 XK8. After repairing the ABS module I still had a code, but the scanner was able to point me at the left front ABS Sensor rather than unnecessarily pulling the controller again.

I would say a Jaguar specific scanner is pretty much a necessity for anyone planning on doing their own maintenance, and this unit seems to do the job for a very reasonable cost.

+1 I've just renewed the rear hub bearings and UJ,s, also the discs (rotors), and I was left with the ABS light on, I done all the usual checks, couldn't find anything wrong, so ordered iCarsoft, plugged in and erased the codes c1175, c1165 and a canbus error, all good, although I haven't taken it out yet so might all return.
