Coil location identification

3 Attachment(s)
Hi, this is Martin in Ohio. My car is a 2000XK8 coupe. OBD(new) is getting a code 0304, which I understood to be the #4 cylinder on the left bank, second from front of engine. My id data came from the service CD. When new coil installed, the condition returned. Reviewing the CD schematic indicates that it covers cars beginning in 2003. Another schematic from this site shows cars in 2000 with #4 cylinder on the right bank next to the bulkhead.
My question is this: Is the OBD (brand new) readout for cylinder #4 based on the first or second diagram. My OBD is new off the shelf from Advance Auto. Thought to ask before uncovering the right bank.
Another question: is there a way to test the coil units on the bench? I have a multimeter and a few other basic electronic test devices but nothing very sophisticated. Many thanks for your advice. Enjoy the attached pics.

The OBD reports what the Engine Management tells it to report.
The Cylinder #4 is the last one on the right bank ('A' bank) for your engine.
