Convertible roof hydraulics repair cost

Would welcome advice on probable cost and potential garages near SE London that could help.

Tried to take the roof down using my key in the door. Windows and quarters went down, then nothing. I stopped after a second of two, and retried briefly. Got into the driver's seat with the intent of trying using the internal roof switch and saw green hydraulic oil coming down from the front light console, a smallish stream. Doh!

It soon stopped and I've cleaned up as much as I could see, including taking down the light console to give that a bit of a clean. Do I need to do more? How urgently should I get it repaired? (ie are there hidden dangers to "living with" no convertible option for a month or two

I have had a main dealer estimate £1,500. I presume I can get it done much cheaper and would be grateful for advice.

You most likely have a hydraulic hose leak at the top-front roof latch due to hose ageing. Search the forum for a recommended replacement hose brand.

If this is the only fault, repair cost should be much much less than £1,500.
