Convertible Top - Speed Question
I just had the dealer replace the hydraulic lineson my 03 XKR.
Since I got it back about a week ago I've noticed it seems slower when opening/closing. I wanted your opinions before I go back to them only to hear that it's supposed to be that way Thanks in advance! |
RE: Convertible Top - Speed Question
I've tried to determine if there isa specification on raise/lower times. Apparently there is not. Been out shopping for a replacement car and noticed that some take a little longer than others but only by 3,4,5 seconds.

RE: Convertible Top - Speed Question
Just had mine replaced last week on my 01 XKR. What a shame that on a car as expensive as ours Jaguar didn't think it was necessary to put a note in the manual about flushing and replacing the hydraulic fluid at a set inteval. It seems the fluid congeals over time causing an increase in hose pressure. My 01 has 29K miles on itI had to replace all hoses including the ones going to the cylinders. I would rather have used that money to replace the secondary chain tensionersthats another disgraceful act on Jaguar's part fro not issuing a recall on that.
Sorry to ventI have loved both of my Jags but this is just unacceptable. gary |
RE: Convertible Top - Speed Question
My 2000 MY had hoses replaced twice. The replacement car, a 2002 has already had the hoses replaced twice.

Thanks ib, I'll do that. I only drive it on weekends (I sound like a little old lady, LOL). I'll be sure to give it a workout and will report back on Sunday.
