In essence you need a drive capable of bit copying and software that produces DVDRom formatted dics. Media used is also important. The "F" disc is much more difficult to copy than earlier versions. I have been using a copy exclusively in my car with no issue other than the rare occurrence of a read error upon startup. Power cycling always corrects this so I think it's an issue with the Alpine deck, not the disc.

I have just bought a 2001 XKR and the navigation sucks for here in Tennessee. I have the version BM9JU91E AND AM WILLING TO TRY THE "F" version if you have one at a reasonable price. I know I can get one on E Bay for $275 but feel that is excessive for a map that may not work. I can buy a good GPS with all options for this price. Hope you can help
