To cover or not to cover...

I'm still in the process of clearing the garage out in order to fit the Jag in, so its currently sat on the drive, getting soaked (more or less every day at the moment!). Should I fork out for a cover to stop the rain potentially getting to places it shouldn't or won't it be too much of an issue? It could be a while before the garage is clear. I see Adamesh do a cover for £110.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Hmmmm car cover.............another one of those thats all down to opinions and personal taste.

IMO - I'd rather she got wet n dirty rather than full of potential damage to the paintwork.

All you can do is do your research and then takes you chances in the forum of an educated guess.

It's a good question, wish I had a good answer. It has been debated before.
I keep mine in an open fronted barn and use an 'indoor' breathable cover to stop the farm cats sharpening their claws on the soft top.
It breathes enough to let very fine dust through though so a mixed blessing.
Maybe some UV protection for a car kept outside but I gather UV isn't a huge problem at the moment chez vous!
Personally, since yours is a hard top, I'd just get a move on with the garage.

As Jim and Steve have said, it's more opinion than science.

I'm a one garage and two car owner so the Jaguar stands out most of the time. All I can say is that during the torrential storms we've had recently, there hasn't been any water got inside the boot, passenger compartment or bonnet. The alarm does go off in hail storms but a cover would make no difference to that.

I agree with Graham.

Always outside, never had any problems apart from the hail (alarm) and clean any bird poop off asap.
